The Brass Ring Thing XIV Renaissance Festival

I know not everyone out there is interested in the same kind of things. But that's ok. The event that we want to share today is an interesting one that will be happening in early June. It's not in Buffalo proper, but is in the local area. It's going to be held in North Tonawanda. It's a Renaissance Festival!

The idea has a group of us excited, and we're hoping to be able to go. But right now it's still something that is more in the planning to attend or not stage. It's a matter of when people are working really. But it does happen to sound like it would be very, very, very fun.

Oh! And link in case you're not sure about the group listed as co-sponsoring.

The museum has the following information on the event available online.

Saturday, June 7, 2014
11:00 am – 6:00 pm

Dyngus Day Parade 4/21/14

What is Dyngus Day? Good question. It's a fairly well known Polish Festival. But what's it for? It's held to celebrate the end of Lent. But in Buffalo it's also a special event to celebrate Polish Heritage.

Image from www.dyngusday.com

The 8th annual Dyngus Day Parade will be starting at 5pm on April 21st, 2014. The route is a decent length, so make sure you check out the map that shows where it's being held. Not only that it shows you where a number of other events will be happening on this day.

There's a special website for this event www.dyngusday.com/. You should check it out if you're interested in attending. It gives a very thorough explanation about the event and what you can expect. Besides that I would recommend staying tuned into the weather so that you know whether to bundle up or not. The weather has really been rather unpredictable lately.

Useful: VisitBuffaloNiagara.Com

Part of staying informed about what's going on in your neighborhood is reading. By reading flyers posted at various locations you can find out about a number of interesting events. These can vary from bazaars to concerts. You're not always going to get emails about these events.

But the information is out there. Whether you find the posting on a flyer, or maybe in a newspaper. All the events that you're going to see here were either spotted advertised on a flyer or in a paper, some of them may even have been advertised online. It's all good, after all it can be time consuming to stay informed. But that's why this is slowly getting settled into my routine.

It's so much easier to reference and plan what I want to attend if I know what my options are. I bet you all feel the same though. Having the options together makes it a lot easier.

visitbuffaloniagara.com offers a wide variety of information concerning places you can visit in Western New York. They have listings of different events that you can attend. Don't be afraid to take a peek there if you have some free time.

Anyway, I'm running out of free time, so hope you get to enjoy yours! Let me know what's going on ^_^.

First Off, What is Free?

free
adjective
  1. 1.
not under the control or in the power of another; able to act or be done as one wishes.
  2. 2.
not physically restrained, obstructed, or fixed; unimpeded.
adverb
  1. 1.
    without cost or payment.

Free doesn't always mean free. That's something many of us have come to learn in today's fast paced world. But while the meaning isn't always seen as the same, there are some genuine free events still available to the community. There are also some events that are available offered at affordable rates as reasonable alternatives. The real matter is being informed about the various events and opportunities available.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that YOU have the power to decide what you want to participate in. By participating in local events, you help show that the community is interested in the continuation of various programs. If something you find or bump into, isn't your personal cup of tea, feel free to pass the information along to someone else. You never know who might be interested in an activity.

Mind you, not everything that we're going to be looking at is always free, but it's nice to know that the city is active. Don't let people say the Queen City is dying. Let's look at everything that she has to offer, and the wonderful appeal it has to those who travel. Even more than the visitors though, think about all the appeal she has to those who live here.

Welcome to Buffalo, let's stay a while and enjoy the company.
